Richard returned to Fort Lauderdale in 2007 after a period of developing new courses for USCG licenses and teaching classes in marine engineering and shipboard operations to licensed merchant mariners on Maryland¹s Eastern Shore. He was also involved in the development and delivery of the USCG approved passenger safety and crisis management course for Hawaiian-based cruise ships. Prior to that he was an instructor at Seattle Maritime Academy and a Merchant Marine Chief Engineer, and held a position as engineer/technical representative for International Hydrodynamics.
