Described as ‘the most beautiful race in the world’, the Mille Miglia is a thousand mile rally around Italy, combining tradition, innovation and beautiful scenery.
Set over three days, this unique open-road endurance race was formed in 1927 by friends, Aymo Maggi, Franco Mazzotti, Giovanni Canestrini and Renzo Castegneto as a symbol of Italian motorcar excellence. 375 automobiles take part in the race, selected exclusively from the models that took part in the original Mille Miglia with entrants from world-famous manufacturers such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati.
This year promises to be better than ever with a record number of applicants and a growing fan base that make their way along the route from Brescia to Rome, and back again to watch the spectacular display of classic and modern cars go by. The race will start in the evening of Thursday 16th May from Viale Venezia (as it did originally) and go to Ferrara that night. Friday will see the cars race from Ferrara to Rome before the longest section on Saturday ends the race back in Brescia.
