The Competition

Co-organised by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and Boat International Media, the competition is open to anyone who is studying for a degree or other qualification in a subject related to yacht or small craft design, or who graduated from such a course within three years of the closing date for entries.

The Young Designer of the Year Award will be presented to the designer who produces the best concept design for a superyacht which meets the owner’s specification given in the competition design brief.

The Prizes  

The competition finalists, selected by a distinguished panel of the world’s leading designers, will have the rare opportunity to gain some first hand industry experience at the kind invitation of Lürssen Shipyard, who will once again fly all finalists to Bremen, Germany to visit their impressive facilities.

The winning designer will also receive €5,000 prize money and will be invited to accept their award at the prestigious World Superyacht Awards gala evening at London’s Guildhall, attended by the industry’s most influential builders, designers and owners. 

The Finalists will be annouced online on Friday 5th March and in the May issue of Boat International.
