Market Intelligence - February's activity report
February has been a very good month for yacht sales with roughly a yacht a day selling between the 24m – 50m size range, including three Benettis, two Ferrettis and two Pershings. Furthermore, 50% of the yachts sold in February were built 2006 onwards whilst the oldest sold was circa 1970. The average price of the yachts sold in February was approximately USD 8.5m.
Just over 60 yachts were new to the brokerage market in February, including a 60m Lurssen with a design by Espen Oeino and two Feadships, one of which is first time to the market and has never chartered. Approximately 10 new sailing yachts entered the brokerage market, 50% of which are in the 30-40m size range with builders such as Alloy Yachts, Perini Navi and Royal Huisman.
Currently there are approximately over 650 yachts for sale in the 30 – 40m size range, 15% of which are sailing yachts. Whilst reporting last month that Perini Navi led the way in sailing yachts on the market over 40m, in this size range Alloy Yachts leads the way.
