Antigua Charter Show 2016 Round Up

14th Dec 2016

With strings of lights twinkling from the bow to the stern of the yachts, and underwater lights that lit up the various shades of the turquoise waters of Antigua, English Harbour came alive for five days with people, parties, and some of the world’s most luxury super yachts on display.

A collection of magnificent yachts were being showcased this year, including some of the world's most iconic superyachts and probably the best line up to date from the Camper & Nicholsons charter fleet. The sailing yacht Q and motor yachts: CallistoLioness VIllusion VHuntressJoAt Last and Touch were all on display and welcoming charter brokers on board for tours, lunches and different events.

The turn-out during the week was fantastic with over 150 brokers in attendance. The yachts and docks saw a busy flow of brokers and suppliers whilst every event was well-attended from yoga, sunset cruises to exquisite fine dining, and an exclusive 1920s themed evening on board Lioness V.

The party of the week was definitely the Camper & Nicholsons Crew Party which took place on the Wednesday night. Internationally acclaimed artists Asher Otto and Itchy Feet - Antigua's answer to Rihanna - created the buzzing dancing vibe, whilst a fun interactive photo booth, exquisite Japanese food and a constant flow of delicious rum punch ensured the evening was well received all round.

For the 17th year, the show also hosted the Chef’s Culinary Contest 2016. There were three categories that were fiercely contested: 160ft and over, 126ft – 159ft and 125ft and under. The competition asked chefs to prepare a classic three course ‘Surf & Turf’ luncheon, all with a Caribbean influence.

Camper & Nicholsons is proud to reveal that Head Chef Kdn Lyne of motor yacht Callisto was awarded third place in the 160ft and over category, and Chef Michael Power of motor yacht At Last took home third place in the 126ft – 159ft category. Callisto also won first place for the best table setting. Many congratulations to all of the fantastic chefs and stewardesses who entered the competition.
