C&NI reports on the 2014 edition of the Palma International Boat Show
Each year the Palma International Boat Show gains momentum and this year was without exception with some 32,000 visitors passing through to view the 55 luxury vessels on display, which included several from the C&NI fleet.
The Palma show has become one of the most important events on the yachting calendar, and clients attending this year's show demonstrated keen interest in the yachts that were displayed. C&NI showcased several attractive motor and sailing yachts ranging from 25m (81') to 43m (141'). Arne Ploch commented: "The Palma Superyacht Show was a great success bringing together a unique selection of sailing and motor yachts for sale and charter. We saw many owners and potential clients visiting the show and good contacts were established, both for sales and charter enquiries. Our event onboard the 43m (141') motoryacht CD Two brought together an interesting group of people, both industry contacts and clients, and was appreciated by all."
The Palma Superyacht Show is gaining in strength of numbers of attendance every year and is now a firmly established event on the annual boat show calendar. It is certainly a must visit show for any sailing yacht enthusiast; more than half the represented yachts were sailing yachts.
The show brought with it a positive vibe to the state of the superyacht market, and this, along with the recently approved exemption of the Spanish matriculation tax for charter yachts over 15 metres, marked a positive start to the charter season in the region.
