Free Talks for New Crew A Great Success

14th Jun 2013

Throughout the months of April and May our Crew Division were delighted to provide free weekly public talks for hopeful new crew arriving in Antibes attempting to get their big break into luxury yachting, and we were very pleased to see bumper attendances every week, with audiences of up to 50 people!

Hosted by the Camper and Nicholsons Crew Coach, these 90 minute talks gave around 200 prospective new crew a great introduction to the yachting industry, teaching them what is expected from new joiners in all departments and how best to apply this information to get their first yachting job as quickly and easily as possible.

We are very pleased to report we received many emails of thanks during this period, including some great success stories:

"Just a quick note to let you know that I found a job!!! I came to your final free talk and took a lot from it. It paid off because I have a deckhand position on a 60m! Thank you for your help and motivation, I have passed on your information to all the people that have been here for 3 months and are struggling.“ J.O.

“Thanks to all your tips on job searching and my CV I just found a position for the season – thanks so much for your help!” D.S.

It is wonderful to know we have been able to help so many professional and dedicated new candidates join our industry and we look forward to supporting them in their careers as they develop into future crew leaders.

The Camper & Nicholsons Crew Coach Alison Rentoul is a fully trained performance coach with more than 15 years of yachting industry experience ashore and afloat, providing private leadership coaching and professional development training to the crew of our managed yachts.
