Galactica Star launches at Heesen
Heesen launches its 65m revolutionary first all aluminium fast displacement hull form.
From start to finish, everything behind the impressive 65m Galactica Star has been done in record time where the concept first came to light at the Monaco Yacht Club in 2010 and her build established and signed for a month later. The laying of the keel and official ceremony took place in February 2011 with delivery scheduled in June at the Heesen facility in Oss.
Award winning designers were appointed to bring to life the clean lines of the exterior designed by Omega Architects and a chic interior by Bannenberg & Rowell. Thanks to Heesen’s knowledge on weight reduction and a pair of MTU 20V40000M93L engines, Galactica Star’s fast displacement hull form is cutting edge, rendering her more efficient by 30% and able to reach excellent top speeds of 27 knots with an economical fuel burn and long range capabilities of 4,200nm at 14 knots.Image credit: Dick Holthuis courtesy of Heesen Yachts.
