Market Intelligence - May's Activity Report
During the month of May the brokerage market has seen some good sales. Yachts sold during May include a 59m Baglietto with an asking price of approx. EUR 35m, a 50m Codecasa, a 40m Alloy motor yacht that had been for sale less than a year. Sailing yachts accounted for approximately 15% of the sales during May which is a big improvement on the ratio for the first few months of the year. The age of the market is similar to last month with just over a third of yachts sold aged 10 years or older.
May has also seen some fantastic new yachts for sale which have not been previously been on the brokerage market, including 90m sailing yacht that, until now, has only been available for charter. Tiara, a 54m sailing yacht priced at EUR 21.8m, is offered with a magnificent interior by John Munford and a helipad on the aft deck - a very rare feature on a sailing yacht. A 67m Feadship, built in 1983 and refitted in 2004 by the Studio of Terence Disdale Design, has also joined the sales market. A 60m Trinity yacht built in 2010 with an exterior design by Bannenberg & Rowell also joins the yachts now available for sale. Just over a third of yachts placed on the market during May were in the 24-30m segment, almost 40% were in the size range 30 – 40m and 15% were 50m+.
