In the lead up to the busiest summer months, we bring you the most up to date super yacht market intelligence.
During the month of April the brokerage market has seen some good sales. Yachts sold during April include a 77m Nobiskrug, a 55m Heesen, a 49m Oceanfast motor yacht that had been for sale less than a year. In total it has recorded just over 26 sales totalling approximately in excess or EUR 160 million (USD 211m) with over 60% of the yachts sold priced in Euro.
April also saw some fantastic new yachts on the brokerage market, including an 86m Feadship and an 80m Blohm & Voss, both available for the first time since built. Approximately 12% of yachts placed on the market during April were sailing yachts, including a 57m that has previously only been available for charter. Just over a third of yachts were in the 24m-30m segment, almost 34% were in the 30m-40m size range and 12% were 50m and over.
Currently there are over 770 yachts worldwide for sale in the 30m-40m range of which an approximate 16% are sailing yachts. In this size segment approximately 18% are under 6 years old, 30% are between 6 – 10 years old, 27% are between 11 – 20 years old and the remaining 25% are older than 21 years. Taking the whole market over 24m the age segment shifts slightly with 22% are under 6 years old, 30% are between 6 – 10 years old which is the same reflection in the 30m-40m segment, 25% are between 11 – 20 years and 23% older than 21 years.
