Shipyard activity & new projects
According to last year's figures, a total of 160 superyachts were delivered during 2014 - the largest of which was a huge 140-metre new build project managed by Camper & Nicholsons International. With some colossal projects on the horizon for 2015/16, Camper & Nicholsons takes a closer look at shipyard and construction activity.
2014 saw some of the most impressive and hotly anticipated new constructions delivered, including the Camper & Nicholsons brokered 140-metre project mentioned previously, the 58m Benetti Illusion V and the 54m ISA Forever One. 139 new orders for yachts were placed during 2014, with an average length of 44.1 metres - five metres more than the previous year. Figures show that Italy continues to have the strongest demand for new construction projects, followed by the UK, the Netherlands, the US and Taiwan.

With a list of huge orders under construction, shipyards around the world will be busy throughout 2015 working on some vast builds, the biggest of which is reported to be a 156-metre construction scheduled for launch in 2016.
