The British heritage of Camper & Nicholsons
The Superyachts.com team caught up with London brokers Simon Goldsworthy and Cristabel Nye at the recent London Yacht, Jet & Prestige Car Show to discuss the brand, the heritage and the story behind Camper & Nicholsons.
Last month saw Camper & Nicholsons turn its attention to central London for the London Yacht, Jet & Prestige Car Show. The first of its kind to be held in London, the show featured many of the world's finest yacht, jet and car companies, all in the capital city of the country where it all began for Camper & Nicholsons back in 1782.
The Camper & Nicholsons sales and charter team from London were in attendance throughout the show to discuss the needs of anyone interested in buying, selling, building, owning, or chartering a superyacht. During the show Superyachts.com caught up with London brokers Simon Goldsworthy and Cristabel Nye to discuss the brand's heritage and the reasons as to why London is an important city for yachting. Simon Goldsworthy commented on the value of having a large office in central London. "London is a major player in the world in general. As well as the people that live here there are a lot of our clients with businesses here or they pass through at least three or four times a year." Simon went on to say "For anybody based in sterling or US dollars there has never been a better time to purchase a yacht. The recent currency movements have meant that they have effectively had a 30% price cut on the European fleet. As a result there has been a huge amount of interest in our European listings. That can only be of benefit to European builders and brokers."
Cristabel Nye commented 'We are a hugely important office based in London. A lot of people want to deal with us as they have businesses or offices here and they like to come in to discuss their yachting needs in person. I think because we are the oldest brand in yachting, and a great heritage brand, then people trust us. We have been doing something right all these years and people like to deal with us."
