Update - The Crew Coach

12th Mar 2013

The Camper & Nicholsons Crew Development project is continuing to inspire and reinforce the skills of our charter fleet leaders, many of whom have now undertaken the leadership and productivity training days provided so far in Monaco and Antigua.

Captain Ian Seward of the 36m (118’) Metsuyan IV commented that he found the Leadership training ‘A very useful and informative day. These workshops should be compulsory. Well done Camper & Nicholsons in taking the initiative. I look forward to implementing the points in the way I run my crew and yacht.’

Meanwhile Chief Officer Maria Grazia Franco of the 60m (196’8) Swan found the Productivity course equally helpful: ‘The course is very interesting and focuses on things that are very relevant to our industry. Time managing is particularly difficult at times, with pressure coming from various people inside and outside the yacht and the techniques we have learned today will be very helpful.’

Still to come this month are two further full days of training, on positive negotiation and conflict resolution, and building dream teams, plus the forthcoming launch of a crew newsletter and other professional development resources for the charter fleet crew
