Whale watching on board S/Y Rapture
The stunning 30.2m (99'1) sailing yacht Rapture is relocating to the Pacific where she will be available for charter from July to September in French Polynesia, and ready to offer guests a once in a lifetime experience.
There is no better place to watch some of the world's most incredible marine mammals than French Polynesia. And especially on board the outstanding sailing yacht, Rapture. She boasts exceptional uncluttered deck space with lounging and al fresco dining areas, offering the perfect platform to experience such memorable moments.
Humpback whales visit The Islands of Tahiti every year between July and November. They are best seen around the islands of Moorea and Tahiti. They travel about 5,000km from Antarctica to this part of the world to breed and give birth, so it is not rare to encounter a mother and her calf close to the reef of these islands. Throughout their stay over here, they do not feed but socialise, and it is common to hear a singing male.
French Polynesia has been a sanctuary for marine mammals since 2002 where whales and dolphins have been protected since. When conditions allow during an encounter, it may be possible to swim with them.
The whale-watching experience is organised by Tahiti Private Expeditions. This specialized agency provides dive/snorkel guide services to superyachts visiting French Polynesia. Their guides work with the captain on custom itineraries for charter clients matching the various guests' expectations and dive/snorkeling experience. This service is 100% customised for Rapture’s charter guests.
