9th Mar 2015

Camper & Nicholsons Crew Placement Division is fully MLC compliant and has a comprehensive database of over 20,000 qualified crew, as well as a vast network of industry contacts. Whether you’re looking for a long term addition to your team or a relief crew member to get you out of a jam, we can help you find the right person.

How do we find you the best candidates?

When your job order is received, we go to work, pooling our resources to identify suitable crew members. Rest assured that we personally interview every one of our candidates, checking no less than three references and compiling all certificates, menus, and relevant documents. Candidates are carefully screened according to your exact criteria, ensuring that they have the correct tickets, visas, attitude and skills.

Finally, you will be presented with the candidates who best fit your requirements. What’s more, should for any reason your new employee not work out, Camper & Nicholsons offers a replacement policy so that your yacht is well-crewed at all times.

Meet our team

Deborah Blazy, Director Crew Placement
Looks after – Captains & engineers

Debbie grew up in England, running and ruling the hallways of her father’s hotel. She graduated from Leeds University with a degree in Economics, and in the early 90s moved to France to work as Communications Manager for a multi-national pharmaceutical company.

In 2004 she arrived in the South of France, and shortly after joined CNI, where she was charged with setting up the Antibes Crew Division. Years later, Debbie now leads a team of agents and is a well-known resource to crew all over the world. When not in the office, she loves playing on boats with her family – and they can often be seen sailing by the superyachts on their way to somewhere lovely.

Sarah Laty, Crew Placement Agent
Looks after:  Interior crew

Sarah grew up in Tennessee, studied in Boston and Paris, and lived in New York City for many years before moving with her husband to the South of France in 2008.
She immediately joined the Crew Placement Division at CNI and began working as an agent several months later. In a previous life, Sarah was a contributing editor for a New York magazine, and she continues to publish, both internally and for various yachting magazines.

Carly Yendle, Crew Placement Agent
Looks after: Exterior crew

Carly was born in Cannes and knows yachting very well- perhaps too well, having grown up with a Captain father and a Chief Stew mum! She attended international school here on the Cote d’Azur, followed by a brief stint back in the UK, before getting fed up with the rainy weather and deciding to make the South of France her home. After her own experience as a stewardess, she decided she preferred land based life and took her knowledge ashore. Carly joined the Camper & Nicholsons Crew Department as an assistant in 2013 and was quickly promoted to a full time Crew Agent.

Rebecca Smyth-Osbourne: Crew Assistant

Rebecca was born in Wales, read Ancient History at Cardiff University, and travelled all over the world before finally landing in the South of France. She settled here in 2012 and completed a Masters in International Relations before striking an interest in the yachting industry. She joined the Crew Department in 2015 as our lovely new assistant and will be the first point of contact for all the new crew flooding into Antibes.
