An Introduction to Yacht Management
The Camper & Nicholsons Yacht Management Division was set up in 1988 to provide administration, guidance and support services to Owners and their Captains. Our services are based from our Antibes and Fort Lauderdale offices and we cater to our clients worldwide.
The yachting industry has changed significantly over the recent years as the number and size of yachts have increased dramatically. The technical complexity of these yachts, the rules and regulations needed for their safe commercial operation, the number of crew and their required qualifications, the quality and level of interiors and the general level of sophistication of equipment, have also grown in parallel. An experienced yacht management team must provide the necessary support and administration for the safe and successful operation of such vessels.
Managing a yacht is akin to managing a business. Our services are designed to meet the requirements of individual owners and we currently provide management to yachts ranging in size from 22m to 90m. These yachts operate predominantly between the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, but also undertake circumnavigations and extended cruising. The majority of our fleet is under full management. Our depth of experience in dealing with day-to-day issues related to large yacht operation is unparalleled, thanks to a wide range of in-house skills from qualified engineers, Master Mariners and accountants. We also have expertise in Flagging and Class issues, and excellent working relationships with a number of shipyards, suppliers, manning agents, surveyors, maritime legal advisors for all aspects of ownership structure.
