Chef | Sous chef | Crew cook

There are many galley positions on yachts from crew chef, sous chef, sole chef to head chef on larger vessels. The role of a yacht chef is essentially to keep the crew and guests well fed at all times. Chefs are in charge of menu planning, working within budgets and provisioning both in well known and remote locations.

A good chef cooks for guests and crew with equal passion. They are also in charge of keeping a well stocked, spotless and organised galley as well as following preferences and dietary requirements of everyone on board. Presentation and variety are also key requirements as is a calm and drama free personality. A well fed yacht is a happy yacht and the chef plays a key role in keeping crew energised, happy and healthy.
